“I write so that you will know how one ought to conduct himself in the household of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and support of the truth” (I Timothy 3:15). In this New Year we have a new logo symbolizing both the pillar and support of the truth as well as the Capitol Community. Thus it pictures in unity the presentation of the truth to our political leaders. Please include our leaders in your daily prayers with the 2012 VA Leadership Prayer List and you can also use the Prayer Guide. Just click on "Prayer" to your left.
Praises:
• The Session begins January 11, 2012 with an exciting Commonwealth Prayer Breakfast which brings together the leaders of our Virginia State Government with believers who desire to pray for our leaders and see an impact in their lives for the sake of the Kingdom. • What a thrill to see a movement of prayer among our leaders beginning with Congressman Randy Forbes and the Congressional Prayer Caucus and now with our own Virginia Prayer Caucus in the 2012 Legislative Session! Pray that the Lord will bless them as they pray together.
• We rejoice that Larry Mason is continuing to improve!
Prayer Requests:
• Please pray that the Lord will bless our Bible studies, personal appointments and office visits to draw many of our legislators unto Himself. This year we are asking the Lord to grant us 12 in 2012 to come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. Please pray with us that the Lord will grant us 12 in 2012.
• Continue to pray that each week of the 2012 Legislative Session will be filled with short term mission trips to our Capitol on Thursdays with each church having their own Day at the Capitol.

How can we thank the Lord enough for your partnership in prayer for us and our leaders this year?! This has been a very difficult Session for our leaders and their staff but we are excited to see what the Lord is doing in many of our legislators’ hearts and we know that it is due to your faithful prayers.
Praises:
-
Looking back over all our meetings with the new freshmen class of legislators this year, we were very excited to realize that about half of them told us of their commitment to Christ and their walk with the Lord. What a tremendous answer to prayer to see God giving so many Christians positions of leadership in our state.
-
It has been a special blessing to be blessed by pastors coming each week of Session this year for our prayer time and Bible study and do an AGAPE Capitol Prayer Walk.
-
My final day of visiting during session, in between my scheduled plans, the Lord provided the opportunity to meet with eight of our legislators in one day, most of them casually inviting me in, even without an appointment. The Lord is granting this unusual favor with our leaders through your prayers!
-
In spite of a very challenging Session, the Lord continued to bring out legislators to the Bible studies, and the Lord blessed with our strongest attendance at the end of Session this year.
-
What an encouragement it was to enjoy our National Training at Shepherd’s Conference again and hear how the elders at Grace Community Church and the professors at the Master’s Seminary are praying for us and to be amazed at how Lord is blessing in each of Capitol Commission’s 19 states currently.
Prayer Requests:
-
I ask for your special prayers in compiling all the information from my years of ministry in preaching on the importance of ministering to leaders throughout Scripture to put it in a book.
-
May His Word run and be glorified in our upcoming regional Bible studies this spring.
-
That the Lord will give wisdom as we seek to follow up with the legislators, that the Lord will bless and that God will pour out His grace upon them.
-
That the Lord will provide funding this year to give MacArthur Study Bibles to our 22 new legislators.
We are truly blessed by your faithful prayers for us and our leaders and we are delighted to see the wonderful work God is doing in our capitol.
