We have turned the corner into February and have definitely had a lack of “global warming” in Colorado and Wyoming. I went out to my car this past Wednesday morning, February 2; to go to the Wyoming Capitol for our weekly Bible Study and my thermometer read -27 degrees, yes below zero. My poor car barely started as it struggled to get everything moving. Once at the Capitol we had one of the warmest, most rewarding Bible Studies yet in the state this session. We are studying Philippians and are in chapter 4 where Paul is imploring the Philippians to “Stand Firm.” It was a rich time with the leaders of Wyoming discussing how they can “Stand Firm” in Wyoming.
Colorado has had its share of cold weather also being below zero. Our time in the book of James has been anything but “cold.” We have had and I know will continue to have some of the deepest discussions that are possible in such a short time frame. We are studying in the section on “Worldly and Godly Wisdom” in James 3:13-18. This has brought much passionate discourse to the table as we spend time in God’s Word in room 0109 of the Colorado State Capitol.
The Bible Studies in both states have been very well attended as the staff, lobbyists, journalists, and sergeant study has been also. What a privilege it is to bring The Word of God into the state house of Colorado and Wyoming.
Continue to pray for the leaders of these states, that they might “Stand Firm” using “Godly Wisdom” as they represent the citizens of Colorado and Wyoming. Pray for me as I travel many miles on roads that are many times “snow packed and icy.”

The Thanksgiving season has turned into the season of celebrating the Birth of our Lord. I trust your Thanksgiving was truly a time of rejoicing as we have much to be thankful for. Just think of Christ extending to us the richness of His grace and mercy. Thank you Lord!
In November I had the privilege of attending a Wall builders conference put on by David Barton and his staff. I went to the conference with seven of the legislators that I work with and some brought their spouses and some their children. It was a time of great encouragement as we saw the roots of our country come out of the pages of scripture. The time we all had together was wonderful as we build relationships so that I can know better how to encourage these legislator’s from God’s Word. It was a great time of fellowship together.
December will be spent traveling to Wyoming and Denver to get things set up as both sessions start promptly after the New Year.
Pray for rich ministry as we continue our Philippians study in Wyoming and continue our James study in Colorado. Pray as I meet the incoming freshman legislators and discern where they are in their individual walk with Christ.
Have a Merry Christmas!
In Christ,

The summer has flown by and this is the first official day of fall. The Aspen trees are in full color and you can feel the air changing as the new season is ushered in.
This has been a summer full of ministry as many have visited Lake City and more Legislators are yet to come this fall. Several weeks ago a Colorado Senator and I rode our mountain bikes up out of Lake City to American Basin. It was a rich time of ministry as we stopped on an 800 foot cliff and discussed the up and coming legislative session and how he could be used of God to unify the believers and be a witness for Christ in the Capitol. We talked of being faithful to Christ in the moment and not being overwhelmed by such a daunting task. We also had a chance, along with his family, to climb a nearby “Fourteener” discussing the things of Christ. We sat at 14,049 feet reading God’s Word and praying together. It was a good time together.
God gave me an opportunity to preach in a church in Durango, CO several weeks ago, to introduce the ministry of Capitol Commission in the Capitol’s of Colorado and Wyoming.
We had the privilege of having a pastor and his family be with us in Lake City, this past August that helped us out tremendously in our transition for our previous ministry to what God has provided in Capitol Commission.
Please be praying for State Senator Mike Kopp and his wife Kim as she is going through treatment for cancer that has infected her body. She has had a lot of treatment and God seems to be working though the chemo and other things.
Also be praying for us this season as we set up the next year’s ministry in Colorado and Wyoming. We will be having some new legislators in both of the Capitol’s. Pray continuously for the up and coming elections; that God would put into office the men and women of God that He so desires. I am looking forward to meeting these new legislators and seeing how God can use the ministry of Capitol Commission in their lives. I desire to see Colossians 1:28-29 play out in each of their lives “Him we preach, warning every man and teaching every man in all wisdom that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus. To this end I also labor striving according to His working which works in me mightily.”

Spring is trying to ease its way into the Rocky Mountain Region. Our winter was colder than normal but that has not curbed the heated discussion in the Colorado Capitol. Many topics were debated from the ever expanding Budget to regulations for Medical Marijuana.
Ministry has been so rich this session in both Colorado and Wyoming. In Wyoming I was able to stay with a couple that has a passion for the gospel of Jesus Christ within the political community, Alex and Janet Ramig. They opened their basement to me as I traveled to Cheyenne each week to study and teach the Bible Study for the Wyoming House, Senate, their Spouses and Legislative Staff.
We are moving through Philippians in Wyoming and saw this year how Paul encourages us to “forget what lies behind” and pursue only one thing, “the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus,” Phil. 3: 13-4. What a wonderful time of study we had in these great verses.
In Colorado we are studying the book of James and during this session, January – May, 2010 we have looked at “living faith and dead faith,” James 2:14-26 and are currently in James 3:1-12 as James is dealing with the sins of the tongue. Many hours of rich discussion has occurred as this is so practical for legislators and staff as well as all of us. The issue boils down to this; who is in control of your tongue? James tells us we cannot “tame” the tongue, (James 3:8) but God certainly can as He indwells all of who we are. James is saying to us that if what we say we possess is true and genuine (our relationship with Christ) then it will be verified by how we speak, how we use our tongue.
The party contention and debates have been immense in this 2010 Legislative Session, but the ministry through the Word of God has even been greater. We covet your prayers for the spring and summer as we have more one on one time with legislators and staff. Be praying for the elections in November of 2010 that God would put men and women of God in the places of leadership, Daniel 2:21.

Legislative sessions are getting underway in both states. Things have started off with the richness of ministry in Colorado. We are studying James in our early morning and noon studies and are presently in James 2:14-26. We will be here for some time and the Bible Studies have been very challenging. The staff, lobbyists, journalist and Sergeant’s study, Tuesday at noon, has been packed with as many as twenty attendees’. I am not focused on numbers, but it has been good to have a space problem. At the studies we spend time in prayer, study of God’s Word and then in discussion. The questions that have come in both studies are probing and have penetrated the hearts of those in attendance. The theme of James, if the Faith in Christ we say we profess is true and genuine then it will be verified by how we live, has been the focus of each involved as we test ourselves.
The Bible Study in Wyoming gets into full swing on the 10th of February. We are studying Philippians and will be looking at Philippians 3:4-17 for some weeks to come. These verses are good as Paul brings to the surface the life for the “sake of Christ,’ Phil 3:7.
Please Be Praying:
- for our studies and ministry in both states as things are in full swing
- for the Legislators, that the Christians would represent Christ with love and boldness
- for travel, as it gets tough this time of year with winter storms blowing through Colorado and Wyoming
Thanks for your prayers and your continued support for our Ministry in Colorado and Wyoming.
