Our calling is to bring the gospel to the capitol community here in Raleigh. We accomplish this work by teaching the Word of God through Bible studies at the General Assembly, praying for and with our legislators, and offering pastoral care. When we read the headlines, it is evident our leaders need the instruction of the Scripture and the encouragement it affords. Our desire is for political leaders to live godly lives and to govern with wisdom.
We also encourage believers and churches to pray for our leaders in obedience to God's admonition. The Bible teaches in 1 Timothy 2:1-2, "that...prayers...be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority." The NC prayer blog and prayer calendar are meant to help in this way.
