May God richly bless you and your family during this Christmas season and New Year.

While there are many passages of Scripture that help me contemplate the many riches I have in the Lord Jesus Christ, there are three that particularly amaze me.

Luke 2:25-35  25 And behold, there was a man in Jerusalem whose name was Simeon; and this man was righteous and devout, looking for the consolation of Israel; and the Holy Spirit was upon him.  26 And it had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he would not see death before he had seen the Lord's Christ.  27 And he came in the Spirit into the temple; and when the parents brought in the child Jesus, to carry out for Him the custom of the Law,  28 then he took Him into his arms, and blessed God, and said,  29 "Now Lord, Thou dost let Thy bond-servant depart In peace, according to Thy word;  30 For my eyes have seen Thy salvation,  31 Which Thou hast prepared in the presence of all peoples,  32 A light of revelation to the Gentiles, And the glory of Thy people Israel."  33 And His father and mother were amazed at the things which were being said about Him.  34 And Simeon blessed them, and said to Mary His mother, "Behold, this Child is appointed for the fall and rise of many in Israel, and for a sign to be opposed--  35 and a sword will pierce even your own soul-- to the end that thoughts from many hearts may be revealed."

John 3:16  "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life.

Philippians 2:1-16  If therefore there is any encouragement in Christ, if there is any consolation of love, if there is any fellowship of the Spirit, if any affection and compassion,  2 make my joy complete by being of the same mind, maintaining the same love, united in spirit, intent on one purpose.  3 Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind let each of you regard one another as more important than himself;  4 do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others.  5 Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus,  6 who, although He existed in the form of God, did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped,  7 but emptied Himself, taking the form of a bond-servant, and being made in the likeness of men.  8 And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.  9 Therefore also God highly exalted Him, and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name,  10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those who are in heaven, and on earth, and under the earth,  11 and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.  12 So then, my beloved, just as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your salvation with fear and trembling;  13 for it is God who is at work in you, both to will and to work for His good pleasure.  14 Do all things without grumbling or disputing;  15 that you may prove yourselves to be blameless and innocent, children of God above reproach in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you appear as lights in the world,  16 holding fast the word of life, so that in the day of Christ I may have cause to glory because I did not run in vain nor toil in vain.

Remember to share the gift of God’s love with all, particularly the forgiveness, and eternal life offered to whosoever will receive Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.

In Christ's love,

Jason Palermo
