    California News Update Feed

    December 28, 2017

I am grateful for all God has done throughout 2017 as I have aimed to serve him in the California State Capitol.

One-third of our state legislators were new this year, so I reached out to each of them and got to know as many as were receptive. In addition, I especially enjoyed teaching weekly verse-by-verse Bible studies through Genesis for groups of legislators, staff, and lobbyists.

One highlight for me was giving leather-bound Life Application Study Bibles filled with in-depth notes to lawmakers from both parties. This was made possible thanks to a special financial gift this year from one of our church partners.

Does ministry in the Capitol matter? Consider how one government leader recently put it:

    From A State Senator:
“Frank Erb is the moral heart of the Capitol community. As legislators, we spend so much time with the details of bills and laws that we can neglect the bigger picture. Frank’s Biblical teachings and reflections help us focus on more than just what is legal, but what is right. He helps me and other legislators live a Christ-filled life and I treasure our time together sharing the wisdom and love of God.”

According to Romans 13, Government leaders are actually called to be God's servants to carry out His noble purposes on earth. They can only fulfill this high calling if we help them to know and follow Him. As we lovingly and carefully proclaim His word and help them to apply it to their lives and work, He transforms many from the inside out. As they grow in Him, they become more upright people, better leaders, and our state and nation and world benefit. And, most importantly, God is glorified. It is a privilege to be a part of it, and a strategic opportunity for us as God's people.

Thank you for partnering with us to make outreach and discipleship to California's leaders possible! One-hundred percent of our funding comes from donations from individuals like you who value this work, and your year-end contributions now are especially helpful and needed.
