Thank you for your prayers for the ministry of Capitol Commission. I have met with several freshman legislators recently and the response I have frequently heard to describe their new role is “like drinking from a fire hydrant.” Your elected officials are working diligently and sacrificially to serve you, and our ministry is working likewise to serve them through the ministry of biblical counsel, prayer, and the Word.

Please continue to pray for everyone among the Capitol community. Pray that the Lord would . . .

    • demonstrate His grace and mercy to those who do not know Him, and strengthen those who do.
    • bless the proclamation and teaching of His Word, and the humble and righteous prayers to Him in our Capitol.
    • strengthen our political leaders to display honor, honesty, and righteousness in their lives and decisions.

The Bible study for the 151st General Assembly is the Book of Ephesians. In this vital study of God’s Word, we receive instruction with regard to many important aspects of the Christian life. As a matter of primary importance, believers need to understand who they are in Christ, and therefore, believing and understanding that we have “every spiritual blessing” through faith in Christ (Eph 1:1-3), we will be better able to live by God’s grace and for His glory. We are excited to also learn how to praise God (1:4-14), how to pray (1:15-23), how believers are made alive in Christ (2:1-22), how believers are empowered by Christ (3:1-21), how to edify one another (4:1-32), how to live in a manner pleasing to God (5:1-17), how to be controlled by the Holy Spirit (5:18-21), how to function in marriage and family relationships (5:22—6:4), how to conduct ourselves in work (6:5-9), and how to escape sin and live victoriously (6:10-24).

Pray for the Capitol Commission Bible studies and for God's Word to impact lives as it is proclaimed and taught in the Capitol during the weekly meetings and through the distribution of the printed studies. Please pray for the Georgia ministry, and for the opportunity to meet with legislators, lobbyists, and staff for the purpose of being a blessing in accord with the will of the Lord. It is exciting to experience the truth of Isaiah 55:10-11.

“For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return there without watering the earth and making it bear and sprout, and furnishing seed to the sower and bread to the eater; so will My word be which goes forth from My mouth; it will not return to Me empty, without accomplishing what I desire, and without succeeding in the matter for which I sent it.”

Please join me in praying for the Capitol community, and rejoicing for all provisions to be met by our gracious Lord.

Blessings to You from Our Lord Jesus Christ
    (2 Cor 3:5),

    Ron J. Bigalke, Ph.D.
    Georgia State Director, Capitol Commission
