Happy Thanksgiving from our National Office!

As we begin this holiday season with a day of feasting, football, napping and enjoying family, the Capitol Commission family thanks God for your faithful prayers and financial support. Your partnership is making a difference. In times like we are experiencing in our nation and around the world, you are helping us share with our political leaders the one and only hope that is guaranteed to bring peace: the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Have you ever wondered how an atheist or an agnostic celebrates or observes Thanksgiving? Perhaps not too differently than many who would call themselves believers. Thankfulness tends to be for fellow human beings who have directly or indirectly been a part of their lives (and that’s a good thing). However, what is our thought regarding the many blessings that cannot be attributed to other humans?

We who have been saved by grace, forgiven of our sins and promised an eternity with our Savior Jesus Christ, must acknowledge with thanksgiving, the One who has blessed us far beyond what we deserve.

So this Thanksgiving let us offer to Him the sacrifice of our praise (Hebrews 13:15 - Through him then let us continually offer up a sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of lips that acknowledge his name). Moreover, as we do, remember “our praise of God creates joy and thankfulness in our heart.”

In preparation for this day of Thanksgiving, may our hearts resonate with thanksgiving to our God and Father who is the giver of all good gifts, the greatest being his Son Jesus Christ.

To God be the Glory!

from your Capitol Commission team
