November 10, 2014
All the results have been tabulated from last week’s election and, as we anticipated, there will be many new office holders in the next legislative session in January. There are 188 members in the General Assembly (47 Senators and 141 Delegates) and 36% of those seats will have a new occupant in 2015. With 68 lawmakers filling roles they did not have before, there is much to do in the coming years at Capitol Commission Maryland. Pray for open doors, open hearts and divine appointments to minister to these leaders.
A day before the election, we held our Election Eve Prayer Walk and we thank the Lord for each one who participated. Many others let us know that they would take special time to pray for God’s will and blessing on our land even if they couldn’t make it to Annapolis.
Next week, Tracy and I will travel to Atlanta, Georgia for the annual meetings for Capitol Commission with our board members and colleagues from other states. This is always an encouraging time of training and fellowship and we’re looking forward to being together with the team again. Pray for this time, that we will sense unity as a ministry moving forward and that we will have wisdom with decisions that need to be made.
The year is coming to a close for us, but there’s much excitement about where the ministry is going. We are dependent on the prayers and giving of God’s people to be able to minister to Maryland’s leaders. If you would be led to share an end-of-the-year gift, go to http://www.capitolcom.org/donate.
Thanks so much for praying and standing with us!
