This fall will bring some exciting opportunities for our ministry at Capitol Commission Maryland. Thanks for reading these prayer requests and for faithfully praying for us!
This weekend, I will be heading to Indianapolis for a few days for our annual national meetings with all the Capitol Commission family. Pray for smooth travel for everybody and wisdom during some crucial meetings as our ministry plans for the future. It’s always a blessing to see my colleagues from other states, new recruits and board members at this gathering every year!
You may have heard that Tracy was hired to teach first grade full-time for this year. This is big praise and we’re grateful for this provision for a job that she excels at. You also might have heard that she broke her foot right as school was starting and had to miss the first week. Pray for the foot to heal well. She is getting better day by day, but looks forward to getting the boot off!
Now that vacations are over, it becomes easier to set up meetings with legislators, although we were able to see some through the summer. Lunch appointments are filling up later in September, so pray for good, productive times of encouragement and relationship-building as we meet with them, some for the first time. Also, it has been a good summer of contact with staffers and hopefully that will continue into the last part of the year.
Lastly, please continue to pray for Larry Hogan, the Governor of Maryland. He was diagnosed with non-Hodgkins lymphoma earlier this year and has gone through several rounds of chemo. The results have been encouraging and the Lord has answered our prayer for improved health and strength for Governor Hogan. Several prayer vigils have been held around the state, with more planned, so it is gratifying to see citizens look to the Great Physician to give healing and hope to one of their leaders.
Next time I write, I anticipate sharing an exciting new project that all of our ministry friends can participate in. Details are still being worked out, but look for more news as we head further into the fall. Again, thank you so much for your support and prayers!
