April 19, 2018

One of the busiest times of the year seems to fall during March and April. This year has been no different and we’re thankful for the strength to meet the demands of this season. Your prayers are vital, especially when the calendar is tight.

March provided several great opportunities to meet with local churches and share our ministry and deliver messages on spiritually caring for governmental leaders. We participated in our sending church’s Missions Festival at Independent Bible Church (Martinsburg, WV) where we reconnected with so many dear, supportive friends. Then I made many new friends when I spoke to a men’s group at Faith Community Church in Gambrills, MD. At both of these churches, I invited Delegate Mark Chang from Anne Arundel County to join us and share how Capitol Commission is encouraging him in his spiritual walk and life in Maryland politics. He graciously made the trip to Martinsburg and Gambrills, so we enjoyed having him with us!

Also in March, the men of Uniontown Bible Church in Union Bridge, MD asked me to share at their Men’s Breakfast. UBC has faithfully supported our work for years and it’s always a treat to get together with these folks to report on the ministry and see what God is doing through them in their community.

The 2018 Legislative session ended April 9th, so we felt the annual flurry of activity during the final days. Many bills were worked on, debated, and voted on. We always miss seeing our friends in Annapolis after a session ends, but look forward to keeping in touch with them through the rest of the year. Our Bible studies will continue to be sent to each by email.

Speaking of this year, please pray for all who will involved in campaigns leading up to the November election. Every four years, every state office is on the ballot, so this will be a busy time for anyone running. Pray for wisdom, integrity, and strength for these folks and for their families.

I say it often, but it’s true that we cannot do this work without your support and prayers, so thank you for thinking of us. We’re always glad to hear from you and get your updates as well! Blessings to you!
