Pardon me while I brag for a moment.
I have been in the capitols of Pennsylvania, Maryland, Texas and Indiana over the last month. The appreciation for our Capitol Commission State Ministers--Jeff Whitebread (PA), Brent Alderman (MD), Don Garner (TX), Matt Barnes & Pam Russell (IN)--was thoroughly voiced as I walked the halls with these fine colleagues. Whether it was the in-depth Bible Studies, personal prayers, times of comfort and encouragement or being a force for calm, the gratitude from lawmakers, staff, executive officers and lobbyists was heartfelt and deep. As I get into other capitols this year, I am confident that these stories will be multiplied nationwide.
Join me in thanking God for bringing these fine servants into our Capitol Commission family. Join me in prayer that God will grant us another 26 pastors who will join the CapCom family in service in new states.
In the upcoming days, I will be back on the road. I will be heading to Springfield, IL this week for a day with Shaun Lewis. I will also be driving up to Madison, WI to meet with pastors and legislators concerning opening up the Wisconsin capitol with the ministry of Capitol Commission. Jefferson City, MO, Fort Worth, TX and Columbus, OH are also on the short calendar.
One last note: While fundraising is not a major aspect of my new role with Capitol Commission, I am still raising funds for the work I do with the National Office. I ask that you continually keep us in your prayers concerning this. I also ask that you consider partnering with us as we seek to place a pastor in all 50 state capitols. Whether it is a single gift or a monthly commitment, your investment in Capitol Commission will be a great help in reaching the capitol communities for Christ.
You can mail a check to Capitol Commission, P.O. Box 63118, Charlotte, NC 28263-3118 (Put "Meinsen National" in the memo line) or click on the tab to the right to make an online donation (look for Paul Meinsen in the drop down box).
Thank you for the moment to brag about my colleagues and giving thanks to our God.
"We ought always to give thanks to God for you, brethren, as is only fitting, because your faith is greatly enlarged, and the love of each one of you toward one another grows ever greater; therefore, we ourselves speak proudly of you among the churches of God for your perseverance and faith in the midst of all your persecutions and afflictions which you endure." (2 Thessalonians 1:3-4)
