The gospel brings hope. But delivering the gospel requires a messenger. Firsthand, I have witnessed the power of pastoral presence relationships to your legislators. Over the past three months, I have walked the halls of 6 State Capitols. Yes- there is good news!
This core value of "pastoral presence" sets Capitol Commission apart from other "ministries" entering the Capitols.
"It is all about relationships...", asserted Sam Brownback, Former Ambassador at Large for International Religious Freedom. He stated this partly because for years State Minister Dave DePue was his pastoral presence in the Kansas Legislative Assembly. Dave continues today providing pastoral care. In the legislative session and beyond, in some of the toughest situations of life.
"A trusted pastor in the Capitol allows the legislator to open his heart up to them. What is shared is shared with God alone." Missouri State Minister John Battaglia.
Pastoral presence is bringing hope and bearing fruit across this nation.
How? We have found this to be the best way to open hearts to the powerful gospel and the guidance of the Word of God.
Listen to these testimonies:
"My God is a mighty God who lives in me...I cannot simply leave Him behind or check Him at the door. For whatever reason God has called me to public service, and I need His wisdom more than ever! Capitol Commission is there inside the building providing accountability and wisdom where and when I need it most." Senator Eric Burleson, Missouri Senator.
In the Texas Capitol, a few weeks ago, I witnessed legislators from both sides greet our State Minister and express their thoughts to me that Scot is "so much more than a teacher he is a trusted pastoral presence!"
Pictured left, Scot Wall teaches a Bible Study on the End Times, a topical study that the forty plus attending asked him to teach.
Representative Kyle Biedermann, Texas, passionately summed up it up.
“How grateful we are for Capitol Commission…there is so much stress and so many battles here in the Capitol, and to know that we have Capitol Commission and that we have Scot [Capitol Commission Texas State Minister] behind us gives us great confidence to praise God and continue to do all things for His glory!”
Your support in prayer and financially helps us build that pastoral presence!
