Welcome

Welcome to the Volunteer State page of the ministry that shares its mission with our National office which states:

Capitol Commission’s Mission is to provide a pastoral presence in the capitol communities of our nation. In these communities we purpose to reach every person with the gospel of Jesus Christ, to disciple them, and prepare them for a lifetime of ministry in whatever arena God chooses to place them.

In Capitol communities throughout the United States and around the world, Capitol Commission, in partnership with the church, is committed to making disciples of Jesus Christ and promoting the Biblical mandate to pray for those serving in positions of authority.

Pray for us as we assist leaders to understand and apply God’s Word to sometimes very challenging situations. Capitol Commission has offered a Bible Study at the Tennessee Capitol for several years. In a nation which was founded on biblical principles, the Bible has always been the foundation upon which leadership has been sworn into office and citizens have sworn allegiance. Regardless of political affiliation or association, we are convinced that a nation which is governed by those principles is blessed and made stronger.

It is my privilege each January to be present at the beginning of the Legislative Session. It is a blessing to witness many of our legislators on both sides of the political aisle embrace core values based clearly upon biblical laws. The leadership of Tennessee is worthy of respect and appreciation for their hard work and compassionate concern for the constituents they serve. At Capitol Commission TN, we are convinced that the best way to demonstrate our love, appreciation and respect is not first to lobby for preferred legislation. Rather, we must support our leaders in the way God called us: through prayer and the ministry of the Word of God as stated by the Apostle Paul in 1 Timothy 2:1,2

“…supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way.”

Please join us in prayer for our State leaders and their support staff as they carry out the mandates of their responsibilities. Also consider partnering with us to bring the Gospel to the men and women in the political arena.

For His glory,

BiGe
