The men of Capitol Commission gathered for the first time for our Training and Planning Meeting in Raleigh, NC and the Lord granted us a wonderful and refreshing time together. Thank you for your prayers for us. The training in leadership and discipleship was particularly instructive and will benefit each of us as we apply what we have learned.

    Praises:

    • The Capitol Cookout and Prayer Walk was a wonderful success as God’s people gathered again on the eve of the elections to pray for our leaders, support the ministry, and hear about our ministry from a legislator’s point of view.
    • We are continuing to see the Lord work in hearts throughout Virginia as we preach on the importance of prayer for our leaders according to I Tim. 2:1-4.

    Prayer Requests:

    • We look forward to having the pastors gather again at the Capitol in the coming Legislative Session on January 21, 2010. Pray that the pastors of our state will shepherd our legislators and minister to them effectively on that day.
    • That there will be much fruit from prayer and the ministry of the Word of God as we serve our leaders in the New Year.
    • That there will be sufficient funding to begin the year strong to minister to our legislators this year.
    • May the Lord grant us the opportunity to minister to many in Congress in the coming year.
    • That the Lord will call expositors in local churches throughout our state to begin phase 3 with Larry Mason in starting Bible studies with our local leaders and that the local leaders will invite us to begin those Bible studies in their area.
    • That the Lord will provide a Leadership Prayer Coordinator in each of the churches to develop more effective prayer for our leaders throughout our state.
