A word often used to describe politicians and elected officials is "public servants". Yet the world of of politics if often all about political power plays, audacious ambition, dominant dictatorship, and charismatic control. In stark contrast, God's Word gives us the example of the greatest public servant - Jesus Christ!
This is the topic of this month's interim Bible study at the West Virginia state capitol entitled, "The Greatest Public Servant". Jesus came, not to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many (Mark 10:45). This is a message particularly appropriate for those serving in the statehouse. Those who do not know Christ need to repent and put their trust in the One who gave His life for them. Believers need to remember that it is through sacrificially serving others that God's kingdom is truly advanced. You can read or download a copy of our study notes here.
Please pray as we meet for our study on Tuesday, July 23 and as the study notes are distributed throughout the capitol.
