"It is good for me that I was afflicted, that I may learn Your statutes." Psalm 119:71
Life for those serving in the capitol or in political positions at any level can be full of trials and afflictions. As a matter of fact, life for each and every one of us is full of trials and afflictions. It is amazing that the child of God can say, "It is good for me that I was afflicted". Paul can encourage followers of Christ with the words, "Consider it all joy when you encounter various trials" (James 1:2-3). This is because God has a purpose and a plan for each and every circumstance that He allows or brings into our lives.
This is the subject for this month's interim Bible study, "The Word on Trials and Afflictions" which we will share at the capitol as the legislators gather for three days of meetings. Please pray as we meet with leaders, lobbyists, and staff at Noon on Tuesday, August 20. You can read or download the study here.
As always, thank you for your prayer and support of our ministry. Please pray for leaders, lobbyists, and staff (and ministry leaders) who are undergoing trials and afflictions and that God might use those circumstances to accomplish His work in their lives.
