August 25, 2014
This month’s interim committee meetings are being held on the road in Bridgeport. As usual we try to tag along and provide a Bible study and spend time with leaders at these out of town meetings
We will be holding our study on Tuesday, August 26 at 7:30 a.m. Please be praying as we have the opportunity to minister in a different setting.
Our study this month is A Little Word Makes a Big Difference from Ephesians 2:1-7. In it we consider what a difference the little phrase “But God…” makes in our lives. The theme for this study was adapted from the great little book, “But God…” - The Two Words at the Heart of the Gospel by Casey Lutes. We plan to present copies of this book to the regulars who attend our study.
Paul urges us as believers to remember our dreadful condition apart from Christ (Ephesians 2:12). In doing so we will cherish Christ more as we remember what He has done for us. We will also have much greater compassion and burden for those who do not know Christ. As we continue to live a highly politically charged day, let us remember this as we think of the leaders with whom we may strongly disagree. Let us pray that they too will experience the difference “But God…” can make in their lives.
