Leadership in the Capitol
There is a lot of discussion about leadership in the West Virginia state capitol. We often discuss whether a legislator or elected official is a good leader. The statehouse gives us a clear example of Jesus’ description of earthly leadership where “rulers lord it over them” and “great men exercise authority over them” (Matthew 20:25). Jesus contrasts that with biblical leadership where whoever wishes to be great becomes a servant. He Himself "...Did not come to be served, but to serve, and give His life a ransom for us" (Matthew 20:28).
This is the kind of leadership Jesus describes when He exclaims, “I am the Good Shepherd”, the topic for our capitol Bible study this week.
Please pray that our leaders will choose to follow the Good Shepherd and find the salvation, provision, and protection only He provides.
