"The crowd marveled...as they saw the lame walking...and they glorified the God of Israel." Matthew 15:31

While I have not experienced a supernatural healing like this recorded in the Gospels, I certainly want to glorify God for the wonderful healing He has provided through great doctors. The lame certainly is walking again! Before my knee replacement in June, I could barely sit at my desk to study or maneuver around the capitol. While I am still undergoing physical therapy and have some swelling, I am already walking much better than I was before my procedure.

An so it is a great blessing to resume our Bible studies at the capitol this week. Our leaders are still facing challenging times and we praise the Lord for the open door to continue sharing the Word of God and seeking to minister to the leaders, elected officials, staff, and lobbyists who serve at the statehouse.

This week's study is titled, "I Delight to Do Your Will". We are going through a series, Songs of the Savior as we are looking to see Christ in the Psalms.

Around the capitol, we are all familiar with the position “Chief of Staff”. This is the person who seeks to carry out the desires of the leader or elected official whom they serve. It is often a close friend or supporter. If the chief of staff is to be successful, they must “delight” to do the will of their leader. They must seek to carry out their decisions and policies on a constant, daily basis. In Psalm 40 we read of how Jesus, God’s Son, delighted to carry out the will of the Father who sent Him. We are led to worship Him for what He did for us. And we are moved to follow His example as we seek to delight to do God’s will.

  • Pray for our leaders as they continue to face many challenging issues.
  • Pray our Bible studies will be an encouragement and a challenge for many at the capitol.
  • Pray as leaders continue to deal with the impeachment issue and pray for the Supreme Court justices involved.

As always, thank you for all the prayer and support of our ministry.
