Anyone involved in West Virginia politics spends a great deal of time at the capitol. Legislators, elected officials, staff, lobbyists, and concerned citizens all spend a lot of time in this building.

Any person involved in Christianity spends time in a building as well – the church! One of the marks of a person who calls themselves a Christian (or other religion for that matter) is they attend a place of worship and religious instruction. We would have to say “The Church” is certainly one of the great words of our faith we should study and understand.

This was the topic of this week's Bible study at the West Virginia state capitol. This summer we have continued weekly meetings for the leaders, staff, and lobbyists who serve at the statehouse full time. We are sharing a topical series - Great Words of the Faith - covering such important subjects as The Trinity, The Cross, and The Sovereignty of God. We will continue this topical series through August. You can find all of this year's Bible studies HERE.

This week we shared the importance of belonging to a good gospel preaching, Bible teaching local church. While we have been blessed to serve, minister, and share Bible studies at the capitol and with leaders around the state for 15 years, our ministry is in no way a replacement for a local church.

Please pray that believing leaders will be committed to join, attend, and serve in a local church in their community.

Pray that local churches will pursue opportunities to serve and share the gospel with their state and local leaders who do not know Christ.

Please make sure you and your local church are praying faithfully for your leaders. WWW.Pray1Tim2.org is a great tool to help you pray more faithfully and effectively for "kings and all that are in authority" (1 Timothy 2:1-2).
